Statement on Contractor Complaints from SRE Members

Southern Rivers Energy and Conexon are committed to serving all SRE members – no matter where they live – with world-class fiber-to-the-home internet. To reach our goal of providing fiber internet service to our more than 15,000 members in three years, we must construct more than 2,100 miles of fiber at an average pace of 20-25 miles per week. This requires an extraordinary amount of different types of skilled contract labor.

While most of our contract workers are doing an excellent job, we have received complaints from some members about how fiber construction crews are accessing their property. We want to assure our members that Southern Rivers Energy and Conexon are working with all contractors to ensure they understand the importance of treating every member’s property with the same level of care and respect we require from our own employees. Contractors who violate any policies outlined by SRE and Conexon will be, and have been, dismissed from the project.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we continue working on these relationships in our pursuit of bridging the digital divide for Southern Rivers Energy members.
