Southern Rivers Energy is excited to partner with Generac Power Systems to offer our members automatic, 24/7 power protection at special pricing. A permanently installed automatic standby generator protects your family and home from power outages while providing a quiet, hands-free solution that works if you’re at home or away.
It runs on natural gas or liquid propane (LP) fuel and sits outside, just like a central air conditioning unit. Whole-house generators are wired into your home’s electrical system, backing up your entire home or just the most essential items. They start automatically, as soon as the power goes out, to keep the essentials running like your refrigerator, heating/cooling system and lighting.
Automatic Operation
Your Generac home backup generator starts and stops automatically—whether you are home or away.
Refueling Not Necessary
Your Generac home backup generator runs on your existing natural gas or LP fuel supply.
Power Directly to Your Home
You’ll never have to run an extension cord through a window or door again. Your Generac home backup generator safely delivers power right to your home’s electrical panel.
If you are interested in a whole-house generator, you can contact our authorized Generac installer for a free in-home consultation. A representative will discuss your backup power needs and recommend the best standby power system. They will explain the installation process, help you choose the location for your generator and provide a written estimate, with no obligation to buy.
Portable Generators
Portable generators are also available, in addition to manual transfer switches. Using a transfer switch is the safest way to connect and use a portable generator. If you already own a portable generator, you can still have a manual transfer switch installed.
Connecting a portable electric generator directly to your household wiring can be deadly to your neighbors and electric utility workers if not done correctly.
A generator connected to a home’s wiring or plugged into a regular household outlet can cause backfeeding along power lines and electrocute anyone who comes in contact with them—even if the line seems dead. SRE employees are not the only ones in danger when a portable generator is used improperly. Generator owners themselves may be at risk of electrocution, fire injury, property damage or carbon monoxide poisoning if they do not follow the necessary safety rules.
“This partnership is a win-win for co-op members and employees,” says Josh Hendricks, Energy Services Specialist at SRE. “Having a backup generator installed by a Generac-certified technician not only ensures that our members will have immediate backup power during an outage, but also ensures the safety of our linemen.”
SRE members can receive premier pricing and financing options through GoEnergy Financial with interest rates as low as 9.99% depending on credit ratings.
