2016 Bright Ideas Winners Announced

The Bright Ideas Brigade surprised this year's winning teachers in their classrooms Oct. 17-20 with a grant check, goody bag, and flowers for their creative classroom projects. Teachers began submitting applications for this year's round of grants in May and a total of 22 teachers at 12 different schools were awarded for a grand total of $15,310.

SRE Seeks Grant Applications from Local Teachers

Southern Rivers Energy is accepting applications online for the 2016 round of Bright Ideas Grants aimed at funding local teachers' creative lesson plans and classroom projects. The SRE Trust, Inc. will award up to $15,000 in October to fund lesson plans and projects designed to engage students, encourage teamwork and think outside the box.

Supreme Court Blocks Clean Power Plan

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court decided to temporarily block the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Clean Power Plan. This means EPA can't enforce the rule until the federal courts decide if the rule is legal.
