SRE is Offering Payment Agreements on Past-Due Bills
SRE has suspended disconnects for non-payment until May 31 and late fees are waived until June 30. We will begin disconnecting for non-payment on June 1 if you have not called in to set up a payment plan a week before you are scheduled to be disconnected. We will begin assessing late fees again July 1.
Southern Rivers Energy understands the hardship that many of our members may face during the COVID-19 outbreak and we are committed to making sure members have electricity during this critical time. In consideration of this, disconnects have been suspended and late fees waived through May 31 for both Pay-Your-Way and traditional residential and commercial accounts.
Although we have waived fees and suspended disconnects, this does not cancel your electric bill and we anticipate resuming disconnects for non-payment and assessing late fees beginning June 1, 2020.
Members will still need to pay for the electricity they use during this grace period. As we transition back to normal and this grace period ends, we will work with members who are behind on their electric bills to offer payment arrangements but we encourage members to pay something, whenever possible, to avoid accumulating a large balance.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act provides funding for home utility bill assistance. As of April 1, low-income households may apply for $350-$400 toward their energy costs through the LIHEAP program, available in all GA counties through your local Community Action Agency: http://www.georgiacaa.org/membership/agency-finder/
