SRE Extends Disconnect Suspension Through 4/30/20
March 31, 2020
In consideration of hardships due to the Coronavirus outbreak, disconnects have been temporarily suspended through April 30 for both Pay-Your-Way and traditional residential and commercial accounts. Southern Rivers Energy is committed to making sure members have electricity during this critical time.
Members are still responsible for the electricity they use. As we transition back to normal and this grace period ends, we will work with those who are behind on their electric bills through payment arrangements, but we encourage members to pay as usual if possible to avoid accumulating a large balance.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and adjust accordingly.

As announced Friday, Southern Rivers Energy is suspending power disconnections and related late fees from now until Monday, April 13th for both Pay-Your-Way and traditional residential and commercial accounts. Members who opt to receive SRE notifications will still receive text and email alerts.
We are encouraging members to use our electronic means of payment when possible via our SRE mobile app, website and 24/7 phone payments. This social distancing will help keep our members and employees safe.
Stay healthy and be safe.

Given the effect Covid-19 is having on our communities, out of consideration for working parents who will likely have to stay home with children or find childcare during school closings, we will not disconnect power on outstanding bills for the next 30 days.
