COVID-19 Response Update 4/21/20
In yesterday’s press conference, Governor Kemp discussed plans to allow businesses throughout the state to reopen. Given the nature of our industry, Southern Rivers Energy will continue operating as we have since April 6. Our lobby and drive-thru window will remain closed and we will continue working with a reduced work force. We encourage members to use SRE’s digital payment services including: 24/7 free phone payment system, kiosks, the SRE Mobile app and online payments at southernriversenergy.com.
We will continue monitoring the pandemic and its impact on our cooperative and have extended the disconnect suspension until May 31. Meanwhile, we encourage members to pay at least a portion of their electric bill as they are able to avoid accumulating a large multi-month bill when the pandemic is over.
As you know, it is storm season and we cannot risk a widespread outbreak of the virus to cripple our line-crews and critical support teams. SRE needs to maintain a safe and healthy workforce to ensure we are able to provide reliable electricity throughout this pandemic.
