SRE Sends Crew North to Help Restore Power: Updated

Update 2/20/2015: Our line crew was released from Habersham EMC early this morning after assisting with their restoration efforts all week and then headed over to Amicalola EMC in Jasper, GA to help them restore power for nearly 500 of their members who remain in the dark. Amicalola EMC serves nearly 40,000 members across ten counties in extreme North Georgia across mountainous terrain. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the linemen, EMC personnel and their families as they work hard to restore power and heat for their entire membership.

The scholarship is funded by SRE's Operation Round Up program where members "round up" their electric bill the next dollar and donate the extra change to be distributed via a Trust that is governed by a volunteer board comprised of SRE members throughout the entire service area.
