SRE Trust Scholarship Recipients Will be Announced in April

We received 35 applications for the SRE Trust Scholarship and five recipients will be announced the second week in April. The applications are judged blindly by a panel of retired educators throughout the communities served by SRE. Each scholarship is worth $3000 and can be used at any accredited college or technical college in or out of state. Good luck to those who applied.

Supreme Court Blocks Clean Power Plan

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court decided to temporarily block the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Clean Power Plan. This means EPA can't enforce the rule until the federal courts decide if the rule is legal.

SRE Sends Crew North to Help Restore Power: Updated

Update 2/20/2015: Our line crew was released from Habersham EMC early this morning after assisting with their restoration efforts all week and then headed over to Amicalola EMC in Jasper, GA to help them restore power for nearly 500 of their members who remain in the dark. Amicalola EMC serves nearly 40,000 members across ten counties in extreme North Georgia across mountainous terrain. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the linemen, EMC personnel and their families as they work hard to restore power and heat for their entire membership.
